Nidia
Meet
Hello! My name is Nidia Perez and I'm an Associate Marriage & Family Therapist. I grew up in Guatemala, where I learned to speak Spanish. My native language is Mam. In May 2026, I graduated from Cal State East Bay in Hayward, California with a Master's degree in School Counseling and an Associate's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. My goal is to work with diverse and underserved populations, empowering each individual to lead a happy life through self-confidence and guiding them through difficult times.
I enjoy supporting and collaborating with children, young people, and families, helping them achieve stability and a better life, while creating an environment that promotes justice, safety, and equity for all. I am also deeply passionate about working with people from diverse populations or cultures, regardless of who they are and where they come from. Also, given my personal background and my ability to speak three languages, I feel that I connect easily with others and am capable of establishing positive therapeutic relationships with anyone.
In my work, I integrate various therapeutic approaches, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, artistic elements, play therapy, and psychodynamic therapy, among others. However, my work is guided by compassion, curiosity, empathy, and fundamental professional and ethical principles.
In my previous practice, I have offered individual counseling sessions to address anxiety, family dynamics, anger management, traumatic experiences, gender identity exploration, the development of healthy friendships, self-esteem, grief and loss, and coping skills, among other topics.
Seeking therapy is a big step toward a happier life. I am here to support, listen to, and guide you in a safe, trusting space where you can be yourself, without judgment.
